The late preterm often falls through the cracks in routine hospital care that is designed for healthy term infants. Hospitals need to recognize the special needs of late preterm infants. We will discuss optimal ways to support the late preterm in the hospital and upon discharge to ensure optimal infant health and breastfeeding success.
